5. Brock Sturges

RB | Texas State

Sturges was a 5’11 200-pound, three-star recruit out of Texas in the class of 2018. He began his career at Arizona State before going to a junior college in 2019. He was an all-conference performer in 2020, matching those numbers in 2021. He entered the portal in November 2021.


4. Elijah Johnson

OL | Colorado State

Johnson was a 6’6″ 305-pound, three-star recruit out of Maryland in the class of 2016. He began his career with Boston College, starting 10 games as a true freshman. A knee injury would derail his career there; Johnson would transfer to Colorado State in 2020. He was an all-conference selection his first season. He entered the portal in December 2021.


3. Derek Smith

OL | Central Michigan

Smith was a 6’5″ 295-pound, three-star recruit out of Michigan in the class of 2015. He both greyshirted and redshirted his first two seasons. Smith saw action first in 2018 and became a full-time starter in 2019 and 2020- earning all-conference honors twice. He entered the portal in August 2021.


2. Lorenzo McCaskill

LB | Louisiana

McCaskill was a 6’0″ 220-pound, unranked recruit out of Michigan in the class of 2017. He began his career at Holmes (JUCO) before transferring to Louisiana in 2018. McCaskill became a starter in 2019 and earned all-conference selections in 2020 and 2021. He entered the portal in January 2022.


1. D’Mitri Emmanuel

OL | Charlotte

Emmanuel was a 6’2″ 306-pound, three-star recruit out of North Carolina in the class of 2017. After seeing no action in his first two seasons, he became a three-time all-conference starter between 2019 and 2021. He entered the portal in May 2022 and has received offers from the likes of Miami.
