Philips was a 6’3″ 272-pound recruit out of Mississippi in the class of 2018. He began his career at Hinds (JUCO), where he played for two seasons. He joined Lamar’s football program in 2020 and immediately made an impact, finishing the season as an all-conference selection. He entered the portal in February 2022.

Zita was a 5’9 175-pound recruit out of Tennesse in the class of 2018. Over the next several seasons, he would assert himself as a reliable kicker- finishing as an all-conference selection in multiple years. He entered the portal in February 2022.

3. Clayton Isbell
DB | Illinois State
Isbell was a 6’2″ 220-pound recruit out of Illinois in the class of 2018. After redshirting his first season, he would be named a freshman All-American in 2019. He followed this up with all-conference seasons the following year and a half. He entered the portal in February 2022.

2. Darius Joiner
DB | Western Illinois
Joiner was a 6’2″ 200-pound recruit out of Alabama in the class of 2017. He began his career at Jacksonville State, redshirting his first season. He appeared in 18 games as a Gamecock before transferring to Western Illinois. He had a breakout 2021 season, recording 142 tackles, 7 TFL, 1.5 sacks, and 1 interception while being named All-American. He entered the portal in February 2022.

OL | Austin Peay
Williams was a 6’3″ 295-pound recruit out of Georgia in the class of 2018. He immediately became a full-time starter and all-conference player. Over the next three years, he started every game and earned All-American honors. He entered the portal in February 2022.
