5. TJ Neal

LB | Wofford

Neal was a 6’1″ 230-pound recruit out of Tennessee in the class of 2018. Over three and a half (COVID spring) seasons, he appeared in 35 games totaling 71 tackles with 9.5 TFLs and 7.5 sacks. He entered the portal in January 2022.


4. David Ambagtsheer

LB | San Diego

Ambagtsheer was a 6’0 220-pound recruit out of California in the class of 2018. Over three and a half (COVID spring) seasons, he appeared in 31 games totaling 109 tackles for 4.5 TFLs. He entered the portal in January 2022.


3. Chance Bates

LB | Kennesaw State

Bates was a 6’0″ 240-pound recruit out of Alabama in the class of 2018. He appeared in 12 games as a freshman, earning four starts. He would start seven of fourteen as a sophomore. As a junior and senior, he started every game while earning all-conference honors both seasons. He entered the portal in January 2022.


2. Alec Long

LB | Murray State

Long was a 5’11” 218-pound recruit out of Tennessee in the class of 2018. He spent one season at Memphis before transferring to Murray State, immediately becoming a starter and earning Freshman All-American honors. Over the next two seasons, he would earn all-conference as well before entering the portal in January 2022.


1. Jason Johnson

LB | Eastern Illinois

Johnson was a 6’2″ 200-pound recruit out of Illinois in the class of 2019. He started in six of ten as a true freshman, earning Freshman All-America. He would start every game in 2020 and 2021, earning all-conference both seasons. He entered the portal in January 2022.
