5. Matt McKay

QB | Montana State

McKay was a 6’4″ 208-pound three-star recruit out of North Carolina in the class of 2017. He signed with NC State out of high school where he played several times in 2018 and 2019. He transferred in January 2020 to Montana State and became the starter, throwing for 2021 yards and 17 touchdowns with 316 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in 2021. He entered the transfer portal in December 2021.

4. Derek Kyler

QB | Dartmouth

Kyler was a 6’0″ 180-pound recruit out of Illinois in the class of 2017. In 2018, he took over as the full-time starter, earning all-conference honors. Over his three starting seasons, he would accumulate 4409 pass yards and 42 touchdowns, adding 380 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. He entered the portal in November 2021.

3. Jack Chambers

QB | Charleston Southern

Chambers was a 5’10” 180-pound recruit out of Georgia in the class of 2016. After several seasons of inaction, he rose to a starting role in 2019. Over the next two and a half seasons (COVID spring), he totaled 5537 pass yards and 38 touchdowns while adding 1209 rush yards and 14 scores, earning him all-conference honors. He entered the portal in January 2022.

2. Jack Cook

QB | Dayton

Cook was a 6’0″ 207-pound recruit out of Pennsylvania in the class of 2017. He took over as starter in 2018 and went on to have three straight all-conference seasons. During that span, he totaled 7450 pass yards and 67 touchdowns as well as 1050 rush yards and 28 touchdowns. He entered the portal in November 2021.

1. Jeff Undercuffler

QB | UAlbany

Undercuffler was a 6’5″ 231-pound recruit out of New Jersey in the class of 2018. He started three times as a true freshman but truly broke out in 2019, throwing for 3543 yards and 41 touchdowns, earning a slew of all-conference and All-American recognition. Between the 2021 spring season and 2021 fall season, he threw for another 2000 yards before entering the portal in December 2021.
