5. Leondre Crosby
LB | Walsh
Crosby is the only non-Division I player on the list and deservingly so. After redshirting for the Cavaliers in 2016, he put up three consecutive all-conference performances at linebacker (no season in 2020). The 6’1, 230-pound Ohio native had career stats of 179 tackles, 10 sacks, 31 tackles for loss, and 4 blocks through 30 games. Crosby committed during the summer to Saint Francis (FCS).

4. Nigel Alexander
LB | Dartmouth
Alexander would serve as a defensive role player for Dartmouth in 2016 and 2017. As a starting junior he tallied 47 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. In 2019, as a senior, he earned first-team all-conference honors after posting 69 tackles with 5 TFLs. With no season being played in 2020, Alexander entered the transfer portal in July 2021. He is 6’1″, 225 pounds, and originally from Florida.

3. Tyrone Brown
LB | Baylor
At 6’4 228 pounds, Brown was a three-star prospects in the 2019 class out of Texas. He signed with the Bears and redshirted as a freshman. In 2020 he saw action in four games recording several tackles. He entered the transfer portal in September 2021.

2. Alex Zayed
LB | Louisiana Tech
Zayed was a two-star prospect out of Louisiana at 5’11” 222 pounds. After redshirting in 2016, he played in 39 career games over the next three seasons primarily as a defensive role player and on special teams. Zayed entered the portal in August 2021.

1. Andrew Chatfield
LB | Florida
Chatfield was a highly-touted four-star prospect out of Florida in 2018. The 6’2, 230-pound edge rusher made 23 appearances (no starts) for the Gators in the past three seasons and chose to enter the portal in August 2021. He subsequently committed to play for Oregon State.
